Educational only, not medical advice or a diagnosis. Talk to a licensed clinician about your symptoms and treatment options. If you have chest pain or trouble breathing, call 911. If you’re having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988.

    Why track hot flashes?

A few weeks of notes make an appointment more useful: how often episodes happen, how severe they are, whether they wake you at night, and what seems to set them off. That helps you and your clinician judge whether symptoms are improving and whether a treatment is working.

Hot flashes and night sweats are the most commonly reported symptoms of the menopause transition. The Menopause Society notes that up to 80% of women experience them at some point during the transition, and in the SWAN study women with frequent hot flashes had them for a median of 7.4 years.

    How to rate severity

    • Mild: a feeling of heat without sweating.
    • Moderate: heat with sweating, but you can carry on with what you’re doing.
    • Severe: heat with sweating that makes you stop what you’re doing.

    Your privacy

Entries are saved in your browser’s local storage on this device only. We can’t see them, and they aren’t backed up. Download a CSV now and then if you want a copy, and use “Delete all entries” to clear them.

    Common questions

Is my hot flash log private?

Yes. It’s stored only in your browser on this device. Nothing is sent to Amie or anyone else.

Will my log sync to my phone?

No. Each browser keeps its own log. Use the CSV download to keep a copy or move your data.

What should I take to my doctor?

Print the doctor summary for the last 2 to 4 weeks. It shows how many episodes you had, how severe they were, how many were at night, and any triggers you noted.

How long do hot flashes last?

Each episode usually lasts a few minutes, but the phase of life when they happen can last years. In the SWAN study, women with frequent hot flashes had them for a median of 7.4 years.
